Quodlibet 26 illustrierte Begriffe mit Q
Quodlibet was my final major project at the Academy of Visual Arts. It´s a book about items starting with the letter Q. Q is one of the rarest letters. Typography was done by Paulina Pysz. The text was written by Sebastian Gievert. The font is the Ludwig fromOurType. I´m really proud that the book won the goldmedal of the 3 x3 magazine of illustration (New York) and was awarded by Output. But the best thing was that Nobrow Press asked me to publish an english version.
It´s now available at Nobrow Press, London. Here is what Nobrow says about Quodlibet: "Translated from the German, with several additional passages for Q letters in the original text that don’t have direct English language counterparts, Quodlibet covers everything from famous Grindhouse movie directors, to obscure 18th century dances, to nature’s marvels and ancient chinese mythological beasts, each illustrated with mastery in three unique spot colours". Items which I created for the english version are: Quentin Tarantino, Queen Alexandra Birdwing, Quokka, Quoits, Quiche Lorraine and Quito.
The first 500 books came with an additional poster of the 26 Queens of England.
